Entitlement

I am amazed at the entitlement I encounter of the teens in my seminars. I have actually heard a number of teens who say they have NEVER done a household chore. “We have maids” they say. These kids also expect dad to buy them cell phones and iPod and clothes, without having to pay for anything themselves.

But the thing that really gets my goat are the dads that buy their kids (16 year olds) brand new expensive cars. These kids don’t pay for gas or insurance or maintenance. They have this warped view of what things cost. In fact they don’t have a clue of what things cost. I think these spolied kids have a far more unrealistic view of money than people without money. And Dads, what expectations are you setting up for your daughters in their future relationships with their husbands.

Dads start teaching your kids about what things cost and have them earn these “things”.
